KET In Action

Most books tell you what they are about.
KET in Action™ is about how a book impacts the reader.

At Kindred Voices Media, KET stands for Kindness, Empathy, and Trust. These are not slogans or marketing language. They are values we use to guide decisions—especially the subtle ones no reader ever sees.

When you see KET In Action in one of our books, it means those values were considered throughout the creative process, not just in the final words on the page.

What KET In Action is

KET In Action is a commitment to intentional creation.

It reflects choices about:

  • how stories are shaped

  • how people and cultures are represented

  • how collaborators are treated

  • how readers are respected

It is not a promise of perfection.
It is a promise of care, attention, and responsibility.

What KET In Action is not

KET In Action is not:

  • an award

  • a certification

  • a seal of approval

  • a claim of moral authority

It does not mean one book is “better” than another.
It means the work was created with attention, humility, and responsibility.

How It Shows UP

You may see KET In Action reflected in different ways, depending on the project:

  • thoughtful representation rather than shortcuts

  • transparency in publishing and pricing decisions

  • respect for contributors, artists, and partners

  • a reader-first approach to how stories are shared

Not every project carries the mark.
Only work that aligns with KET in both content and process does.

How We Put “KET in Action

For some projects, KET In Action also includes a tangible contribution.

When it feels appropriate, a portion of the proceeds from select Kindred Voices Press books is directed toward causes that reflect the values behind KET.

The specifics may vary from project to project.
What does not change is the intention: to let the success of a story support the world it speaks into.

When contributions are made, details are shared openly.

Authors have an option to participate or not. No pressure. No judgment.

Why We Do This

Stories shape how we see one another.

How a story is created matters as much as the story itself. When kindness, empathy, and trust guide the process, they tend to echo outward into conversations, relationships, and communities we may never see.

That is worth slowing down for.

An Invitation

If you found this page because you noticed a small symbol in a book, thank you for paying attention.

As a reader, KET In Action isn’t something you sign up for or buy into. It’s simply a reminder to listen before speaking, to consider before acting, and to remember that we’re all part of the same story.
