Before every Kindred Voices book is published, it is shared with a small circle of readers willing to experience the story while it's still becoming what it will be.
Welcome to Campfire Stories.
Beta readers help identify places where the story is unclear, confusing, inconsistent, slow, or especially effective. You are not expected to be an editor or proofreader. Your job is simply to read as a reader and tell me what you experienced.
What You'll Receive
A digital advance reader copy (ePub and PDF)
Access to the private Campfire Stories community
Conversations and updates throughout the reading process
A signed paperback upon publication (for participating beta readers)
What I'm Looking For
As you read, I'd love to hear things like:
Where were you hooked?
Where did your attention drift?
Which characters felt real?
Too technical? Not technical enough?
Which scenes stayed with you?
What confused you?
What questions did you have?
What would make you want to keep reading?
You don't need formal reviews or detailed reports. Honest reactions are far more valuable.
Expectations
Read the manuscript within the review period if possible.
Keep the manuscript private.
Do not share copies, excerpts, or spoilers publicly.
Be honest, constructive, and specific when providing feedback.
Remember that you are responding as a reader, not trying to rewrite the story.
You’re don’t need to look for typos or inconsistencies, but if you find something, let us know.
